Roanoke River Lighthouse Edenton, NC

Save the Light

Through your generous support, the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse will contribute to the growing vibrant presence of the Edenton waterfront. There are many ways to support our work:

1. Become a Friend of the Lighthouse

Become a Friend of the Lighthouse by making a donation in support of the Roanoke River Lighthouse. Donations should be made payable to the Edenton Historical Commission and mailed to:

Edenton Historical Commission
c/o Lighthouse Fund
505 South Broad Street
Edenton, NC 27932

Or call (252) 482-7800.

As a Friend, you will be kept up-to-date on all events planned for the lighthouse. You  will receive a 10% discount off regular price books and gifts in the “Shop at the Barker House” and from our Online Gift Shop. Or, call (252) 482-7800 for more information.

2. Donate Furniture or Memorablia

We are searching for a few remaining items   appropriate to the period of the lighthouse. The goal is to offer a glimpse of the life of a lightkeeper. For more information see the furnishings plan.

3. Attend a Fundraising Event

Support the lighthouse and enjoy the company of your friends and neighbors at the same time.

4. Volunteer at the Roanoke River Lighthouse

Lighthouse volunteers will be needed to recount the stories of the lighthouse over the past 125 years. Historic Edenton State Historic Site will keep the lighthouse open throughout most of the year. The Edenton Historical Commission NEEDS YOUR HELP to keep it open at other times so all visitors have the opportunity to see and learn. Training provided. For more information, complete a volunteer interest form or contact us at (252) 482-7800 or info@ehcnc.org.
